Victoria Girling-Butcher and The Stove
It’s time to relax and put your feet up Taranaki, because we’re bringing music into the heart of homes.
The House Gigs are three intimate concerts that take place in someone’s living room.
The Pop-Up Gigs Network has been presenting concerts in lounge for the last two years, playing host to touring musicians from throughout the world.
The informal setting means performers and audience get to talk, eat and drink with each other in a relaxed, cosy environment.
Born and raised in New Plymouth, Victoria Girling-Butcher has performed alongside many of the country's leading artists, from Dave Dobbyn to Brooke Fraser.
Since releasing her latest solo album she has spent two years teaching at the Paris branch of Parkslope Rock School, while writing and demoing her next album.
Victoria’s set will be followed by Taranaki’s leading bogan-jazz-folk outfit, The Stove.
Born of a desire to document local history, The Stove tell home-grown tales in epic tone poems. Their work is stoked with five-part harmonies that crackle and burn on the fuel of acoustic guitars and light percussion.
House Gigs are presented in partnership with Taranaki’s Pop-Up Gigs Network, curated by Anand Rose.
